Wildlife and Gardens at Betty's Creek
We are so fortunate to work in one of the most beautiful places in the Western North Carolina Mountains here at The Vineyards at Betty's Creek!
We thought you might enjoy seeing a few of the hidden gems of the flora and fauna on the property. With hundreds of acres placed in a conservation easement to protect their habitats, there are an incredible variety of animals and plants that bring breathtaking beauty to the property.
This is a shot of some of the wild turkeys that roam the grounds. They love to venture out in the fall, to stock up on the berries and seeds left behind as the trees and plants begin to die back in vibrant colors.
These are a few of our favorite photos of Betty's Creek and the forested hillsides through which it meanders. These woods are full of native trees and plants, mosses, birds, and other animals unique to Western North Carolina, creating a lush and peaceful environment for all our guests and visitors to enjoy. (The forests create some amazing bridal photos, too, as you can see!)
The gardens are another amazing place to see both native plants and those that have been cultivated by our caretaker for the past several years. Irises, lilies, gladiolus, hyacinth, daisies, wild roses, laburnum, azaleas, and hydrangea abound, bringing vibrant colors to the photos of our brides. And, even better, many of the gardens are home to beautifully pruned apple trees, blueberry bushes, herb gardens filled with aromatic plants, and vegetable plants such as tomatoes, squash and peppers.
This is truly one beautiful place and we love sharing bits and pieces of the unique features we have to offer at Betty's Creek. Our vendors and staff enjoy working in such a magical, special space. We hope you will enjoy it here just as much as we do!
