About our vineyards

The Vineyards at Betty's Creek are spread over three mountainside acres in four separate vineyards. Since the late 2000s, we have been experimeting with up to ten varieties at a time, seeing which varietals work best with the mountain climate, south-facing sun, and temperate weather here at Betty's Creek.

While we always keep a good stock of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, and Riesling vines, this year, we plan to expand into more Chambourcin vines, as they grow well in the Western North Carolina climate and make a delicious wine. All our wines are small-batch, hand-crafted productions, made on-site only for consumption by our clients and guests.

Typically, the first leaves on the vines arrive with the first days of spring, and the vines are fully leaved by the first week of June. They require weekly tending throughout the season to remain full and lush, and usually remain in full green splendor through September, when the leaves begin to change just as the trees around them do - glowing brilliant shades of reds, oranges, and yellows as they prepare for harvest season. Harvest takes place over three weeks typically from the end of September to the middle of October.

Please note that we do not operate a tasting room at the venue.

Visits and tours are restricted to potential clients and their guests and are by appointment only.
